Yay!

After three years off the air, Fox has decided to begin producing more episodes of their hit animated sci-fi comedy, Futurama. Mirroring a move pulled off by Family Guy two years ago, the long-cancelled series will be making a comeback in 2008.  Read more »

No CD today, since I bought three last week. Don't expect one next week either.

In other news, I spent the weekend with Amber watching my newly purchased Lost - The First Season DVD box set. I've already seen the first season, but she hadn't, so we just had a marathon in her basement. It was definitely a do-nothing weekend for us, and with the rain coming down all day Saturday and most of Sunday, it was the perfect weekend for it too.

Also, a new version of Drupal -- which powers this website -- is coming out soon, and I've set up a sandbox site to test it out. So far everything is working well, so I'll be upgrading the main site when the new version is officially released. You may experience some downtime in the meanwhile.

So the installation guys came in and set my family up this morning while I was at work, so now it's official: I'm a Dish Network subscriber. The TV in my room that before only played DVDs and Xbox games is now also connected to 10 billion channels... and as with cable, there's never anything on.

Actually, there's some interesting stuff. Of course we have all the basic channels, including the WB, so my mother is happy. For the first time since my older sister and I were children, we have the Disney Channel, so my little sister is ecstatic too. My older sister as 8 HBO channels, so she's content as well, and my grandfather is wallowing like a pig in shit in the Portuguese channel and several thousand history channels. So what's in it for me? Well, for starters, I have Comedy Central and Sci-Fi, so I'm covered on the essential cable channels. We have IFC, Starz, AMC, and TCM too, so I get my movie fix. On top of that, we have a bunch of international channels plus a basic subscription to several Sirius music channels. Cartoon Network and several Nickelodeon variations mean I'm more likely to catch my favorite childhood cartoons, and there's plenty of hockey to be had as well.

We had a bit of trouble getting all the TVs set up right, but after that initial snafu, things have been smooth sailing. I never really cared about TV much, so this isn't a make-or-break deal for me, but I guess all those channels I listed can't hurt either... as long as I can avoid getting hooked.

So who's watching the Superbowl tomorrow, and where? I'll probably be home, but I'm interested in everyone else's plans.
